Ten ways of destroying yourself/myself:
Some people say "Health is wealth", during the festive season one of the most commonly asked questions is, How is your Christmas/New Year, some commonly smart answers are usually i Thank god i am not sick. This answer fits best in many situation where health is usually considered as one of the most important thing in life. What is the use of being the richest person in the world yet lay on sick bed unable to enjoy your wealth? If you are one that intend to have a better year, i also suggest that one of the things we should look at is living a more healthy life than before. This could be a great resolution, and to achieve this we need to look at some certain things that we do to ourselves that can destroy us and make a resolution to avoid or reduce the rate of letting them ruin us. Let us examine them one after another; but before we do that, permit me thank Maria Cuculiza a Danish journalist of the Metro Express who researched on this topic and came out with some other 7 ways which shall be incorporated in this research.

1. Anger:

If you do not know that anger kills then you need to think again. Anger has become an issue so much so that some people have to undergo anger course management. According to Tyler Woods Medical and psychological research has shown that no matter how much you exercise or eat correctly, you are putting yourself at risk if you do not manage your anger. Anger causes a widespread negative effect on the body.
He goes further to warn that It is important to understand what happens to the body when one becomes angry. "In a moment of anger, you may experience muscle tension, grinding of teeth and teeth clenching, ringing in the ears, flushing, higher blood pressure, chest pains, excessive sweating, chills, severe headaches or migraines."

As if that is not enough Woods adds that "chronic anger people can also experience peptic ulcers, constipation, diarrhea, intestinal cramping, hiccups, chronic indigestion, heart attacks, strokes, kidney problems, obesity, and frequent colds. Medical experts have found the heart muscle is affected by anger, and anger can actually reduce the heart's ability to properly pump blood."

So how do we learn to control it? Here are some of the suggestions that might help, Meditation, practice forgiveness, sharing ideas, being creative, anger management, therapy etc.

2. DROPPING YOUR BREAKFAST
This is a point i am very much guilty of. To avoid eating breakfast is easy, and it will also mean that you will have even more desire to eat unhealthy the rest of the day. The tendency is that you also will want to take extra when you finally eat something. Research shows that people who eat breakfast perform better on activities & performance of complex tasks. And finally, studies show that a breakfast consisting of proteins, carbohydrates and some fats boosts the body's production of leptin, a hormone that reduces appetite and gives you a feeling of satiety.

3. GOING TO THE SOLARIUM AND DESTROYING YOUR SKIN
This is very common with those living in the West or with very cold climate especially with the white skin. According to Maria ,the ultraviolet radiation (UV) radiation from tanning beds increase your chances of developing wrinkles and skin cancer. Sun lamps emitting a concentrated UV radiation, which contains more UVA than the midday sun, but less UVB radiation. Both UVA and UVB radiation are harmful. UVA radiation causes wrinkles, eye damage and skin cancer, while UVB radiation gives sunburn and long term skin damage in the form of rough spots, age spots and skin cancer. Both UVA and UVB radiation are classified as probably carcinogenic by the WHO's International Agency for Cancer Research Agency, IARC, so it should be reasonably certain that you can be harmed by it. An analysis conducted by the IARC concludes that the use of solaria before 35-years of age increases the risk of melanoma by 75 certain percent.

4. BODY AS A CHIMNEY:
shit
I know those who smoke argue that they feel better when they do and that even those who do not die earlier than them. Good defence, When you take a smoke, you get over 4,000 different substances into the body. Most are in form of  gas and gases, the rest are particles. The smoke is about 50 carcinogens. A study from December 2011 indicates that approximately 24 percent of the population over 15 years smoke and 18 percent of people smoking every day. Every three smokers plan to quit within the next six months. If you stop smoking, you have chances of becoming healthier - you have less chances of serious diseases such as cancer and lung diseases. Another alarming issue is smoking in places or with non smokers, this also helps to damage their health, some even claim they consume more than you do, so shy not for the sake of both of us quit smoking this year?

 5. DROP DOCTOR VISIT: Often we think we are healthy when we are not. We have the tendency of visiting the doctor or hospitals only when something serious is happening to us, even when we do and we feel a little bit better we ignore going back. Few people like to go to the doctor, and it takes time from other things. And if you have symptoms that you are not accustomed to - such as blackouts, night sweats, visual disturbances, dizziness, insomnia, fatigue, weight loss, chest pain, strong headaches and other unexplained pain - it may be stupid not to visit a doctor. This can  effectively be a threat to your health in case you have this notion not to be examined by your doctor. You risk being treated in time, and this can shorten your life span.

6. STRESS YOURSELF TO DEAD
Some people do not believe in stress but i bet you stress does exist and is dealing with a lot of us. Most people will at some time experience stress differently. A fifth of our population has almost daily symptoms of stress - most unskilled and women, according Psykiatrifonden. Every year in most European countries with less than 10 million population about 1,400 people die of stress, and 35,000 are sick every day due to stress, according Stress Society. Stress causes changes in the hormones cortisol, adrenaline, noradrenaline and serotonin. These changes can lead to physical and mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety and abuse, atherosclerosis and blood clots, high blood pressure, migraine, psoriasis, stomach problems and weakening of the immune system as well as a decrease in the number of infection-fighting blood cells and antibodies. Some people are said to be physically dependent on stress.. Do you want to be sure that you are  sick of stress, just follow your body's signals - for example, anxiety, headaches and / or breathing difficulties, impatience, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, forgetfulness and insomnia.

7. DRINK A LOT OF CALORIES
A lot of people argue that only those who consume alcohol get sick easily. This is not always the case as calorie beverages weighs heavily in the total calorie accounts. They are often empty and fills generally bad. Caffè latte with syrup, sports and energy drinks, water with added flavors and sugars, lemonade, soda, beer, wine and milk may be a part of your everyday life. But it is also known as calorie bombs, so if you want to be overweight - and perhaps even make sure that you lack appetite for more healthy calories - you just need to take advantage of the "swimming calories". Beverages can mean that you consume large parts of your daily calorie needs at once.

8. NO EXERCISES
Many people today are less physically active during their daily routine, due to the use of cars, labour-saving machinery, moving stairs, lifts, and so on.
As well, food is far more plentiful, varied, quick and easy to prepare, making it more difficult to keep the required energy balance. Energy input (food intake) becomes greater than energy output (activity) when we eat more than we need or use. That excess of energy soon translates into weight gain — and the potential to develop chronic, obesity-related diseases later in life
Health & Wellbeing suggests that to correct this energy imbalance and ensure we stay fit and healthy, it's important to maintain an effective level of activity. Exercise increases the rate at which your body uses energy (kilojoules) and burns up stored energy (fat), promoting weight loss.

9. GOSSIP & MINDING OTHERS BUSINESS
Gossip in itself is not a bad thing, talking positively about someone with the hope to encourage, compliment and learn can be useful but bad gossip is what can ruin one's life. Although a team of researchers at the University of California, Berkeley found that socially discussing the “bad” things other people do actually makes us less likely to do questionable things ourselves.  Meaning that it may be ok to gossip if it actually makes us better but when it comes to destroy then it becomes an ill to deal with according. Gossips alone can send many people into their early graves especially when it has to deal with scandals that others can not take or handle. If we define gossip as the spread of personal affairs, rumours, half truths, and even lies about a person or organization then  we can consider its effects as negative, detrimental, and damaging for whomever was the subject of the gossip. This is usually the case when we do not want to mind our business and get involved into things that do not directly or indirectly concern us. If we abstain from such destructive ills, we are doing ourselves some good for some of these things always come back to hit us.

10. SLEEP TOO LITTLE

According to WebMD the amount of sleep a person needs depends on many factors, including age. For example, in general: Infants require about 16 hours a day, Teenagers need about 9 hours on average. Most adults need 7 to 8 hours a night for the best amount of sleep, although some people may need as few as 5 hours or as many as 10 hours of sleep each day. Women in the first 3 months of pregnancy often need several more hours of sleep than usual
However, experts say that if you feel drowsy during the day, even during boring activities, you haven't had enough sleep. Going to bed well after midnight and wake up a few hours after completely bombed is also an effective way to ensure that you are both ugly and sick. When we are in balance physically and mentally, we are able to fall asleep easily and quickly - within 10-15 minutes after we've put us in bed. So if you do not get your seven or eight hours of sleep, you are well on your way down the chute. Sleep helps to repair your body and keep your heart healthy. In addition, sleep reduces stress significantly improves your memory, helps you have the right weight, reduces wrinkles and strengthens the immune system, muscular and blood circulation. Professor Poul Jennum  states, "Everyone knows that smoking, alcohol, diet and exercise are factors that are essential for our health. But there are very few who know that adequate and regular sleep is just as important, "

These are some of the 10 ways i was able to combine for now to help us take care of ourselves.
